Newtownstewart Model Primary School, Newtownstewart, Omagh

Welcome

Newtownstewart Model Primary School is situated in County Tyrone  in the vibrant village of Newtownstewart.

Our staff and current enrolment of 70 students enjoy beautiful, extensive grounds and a spacious, well-equipped school building. Our staff consists of 4 teachers and 7 classroom assistants.  Our building supervisor and cleaning staff keep the premises in tip-top condition and our secretary ensures a smooth day-to-day running of the school.  We are lucky enough to have a catering kitchen in our site, which also supplies other local schools and our cook and her staff provide nutritious home-cooked meals each day.

We currently have a mobile text service and a school app so that we are able to text messages with important information to the parents.

Our most recent ETI provided the school with a glowing report with clear strategic priorities, well embedded systems and a staff who work collegially in a culture of trust and openness. The Inspectorate identified how the views of children are valued with an innovative strategy to provide support for children. They concluded that the staff and children in Newtownstewart Model PS work effectively to grow together as a community of learning. They completed their report by suggesting the school is used as an example of effective practice from which others may learn.
